Semi-Automatic Casting Machine
ALTECH Semi-Automatic Casting Machine is designed for precise and fast pouring of molten iron into the anode stub-holes. The Casting Station is fixed and the anode assemblies are indexed to the station one by one on a roller conveyor. At the casting station the rod is clamped. The frame of the casting machine is moved towards the stub and anode-hole until the pouring nozzle on the ladle reaches the pouring point. The nozzle end remains fixed at this point during casting, thus ensuring precise pouring into the anode-hole. The operator controls the casting machine with two joysticks on a convenient seat inside an air-conditioned control room adjacent to the casting station or standing at a control console with “transparent” protecting shield between him and the casting machine.
The ladle with molten metal is transferred between the casting machine and the furnaces by an “electric hoist unit” on a motorized overhead monorail or by a Gantry Crane.
The carbon anode blocks arrive on a roller conveyor to the Rod/Anode fitting in station where they are lifted up for fitting the stubs into the anode-holes. The trolleys are disconnected from the driving unit and the anode assembly is indexed on the roller conveyor to the casting station, where the rod is clamped before the molten iron is poured into the anode-holes.
